With the 2017-2018 Ski/Snowboard season underway at Wolf Creek Ski Area, we couldn’t be more excited that winter is here! Both Wolf Creek Ski Area and Rio Grande National Forest provide countless opportunities to get out and play in the snow.
Wolf Creek now offers nine lifts and seventy-nine trails from novice to expert. This means that there is plenty of the mountain for everyone in your family/group to explore based on their level of expertise. A recent article in the Wall Street Journal named Wolf Creek Ski Area one of the Five Best Kept Secret Ski Resorts in the US. Known for having “the most snow in Colorado”, Wolf Creek averages 430 natural inches of snow per year. Our Home Concierge Services offer discounted lift tickets to the ski area to our guests and our friends at 8200 Sports offer our guests a 5% discount on rentals, making your stay that much more affordable.
If snowmobiling is more of your thing, our friends at Mountain Skillz offer guided tours in the Rio Grande National Forest backcountry. Or would you prefer to snowmobile Wolf Creek Pass? Third Generation Outfitters in Pagosa Springs is happy to make that happen. Maybe you would just like to peruse miles of groomed trails of Rio Grande National Forest and need to rent a machine. Twin Pine Motor Sports in South Fork can set you up with a rental. However you prefer to enjoy the wind on your face and the backcountry, you have options when you stay with us.

When you were a kid did you and your friends play hockey on the local ponds? The tradition continues in Creede with the Annual Golden Puck Pond Hockey Tournament. Teams and spectators flock from all areas to take in the fun and feel like a kid again. Located at the north end of town in the Willow Creek Canyon the iconic Creede Cliffs provide the perfect backdrop for this unique event. In fact, the hockey ponds in Creede were featured in a Carhartt commercial. This is an event that you do not want to miss.
It’s not too early to start thinking about how you and your family/group want to spend Spring Break 2018. Perhaps skiing down the slopes of Colorado?
Our townhomes are perfect for families and groups. All of our vacation rentals feature full kitchens, soaking tubs, and three bathrooms. When you stay with us you’ll experience all the luxury of a hotel with the comforts of home. Put our Home Concierge Services to use and let us assist you in planning your next vacation to southwestern Colorado. South Fork’s proximity to Wolf Creek Ski Area makes South Fork the ideal town to rest your head after a day on the slopes. Additionally, South Fork is surrounded by Rio Grande National Forest for those wanting to explore the backcountry.
